The sudden onslaught of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic has hit the Caribbean nation of Trinidad and Tobago with approximately 114 confirmed cases and 8 deaths, as of mid-April. The country’s first confirmed death was March 12, 2020, and the number is rising. We have heard from our frontline health care workers and have created this GoFundMe page to deliver some help. To provide these workers with certain needs such as Personal Protective Equipment like face masks and gloves, hand sanitizers, and medications such as Vitamin C and Paracetamol, the Adelaide Cupid Foundation is rapidly deploying resources to Trinidad and Tobago-based organizations supporting local workers and families most affected by the coronavirus crisis. No amount is too small to help fulfill an increasing need in the country, which is practicing social distancing and closed borders as it works toward flattening the curve.
